"Zipper failed on my MERIS jacket but the "PRACTICAL PRODUCT LIFETIME" warranty was not worth anything and MUSTANG declined to repair the jacket, nor replace it. I was offered 30% discount on the retail on-line No zipper-lube supplied although this was mentioned somewhere in literature. Despite the "PRACTICAL PRODUCT LIFETIME" warranty statement, there is, in fact, no warranty policy - a zipper failure on a jacket of this cost and purported quality is not acceptable. We are located close by, but why did MUSTANG not want to see the zipper to assess the cause of failure. So many questions."
"I haven’t had the chance to use this gear yet but it looks to be high quality and should meet my needs nicely."
"Haven’t worn jacket or bib pants yet Season is jun1-sept 10 My 1st set of Mustang gear worked great, which was Meris, I switched from Simms to Mustang, as most of our guide team did. Mustang much more durable, dryer, and lasted longer. Mustang far superior for my work."
"Best waterproof jacket I have ever owned"
"Have had my Meris jacket and pants for only awhile - one trip around Vancouver Island in "Fogust" - and so far I can say it is outstanding. Worn loosely or fully battened down it is flexible, comfortable and absolutely does the job of keeping me dry and happy. Well worth it."
"The Meris Jacket and pants is excellent. I am very impressed with the quality and comfort. I like the lighter feel of the material, it feels more like a technical shell jacket with tape seams than a heavy duty foul weather gear. This makes it much more comfortable to wear and increase freedom of movement. The pants are really well though out , love the knee pads and velcro adjustements behind the knee. The suspenders are also really comfortable with a strechy material on the back and velcro which make them really easy to adjust even with cold fingers. The hood on the jacket is well designed with clear plastic on the edges and brim , a nice touch that increases visibility on the sides when the hood is on. I wish the jacket would be slightly longer. I am size large and have a bit taller torso than most. Overall a very well designed garment with very good waterproofing properties."
"Fits great; haven't had a chance to try it on the water yet. Although I usually order large, the medium was the right size in this (seems to fit quite large.)"
"I've bought all of the 4 models of jackets from Mustang Survival. Here is my take on the Meris. I like it a lot, so why 4 stars? Well I just wish it was a Gore-Tex. 1 - I was a bit skeptical about the hood transparent material but it seems to work. 2 - If you're looking for a top of the line jacket that will serve you well without having to break the bank to get the EP 6.5. I'd recommend it over the EP 6.5 or any other jackets I've tried from others companies. 3 - The pockets are easy to access, it's not as warm as the EP6.5. It provides a lot of room when bending, lifting your arms way up and doing all the ample movements. 4 - It wraps really well around the face and the neck has a nice fleeced material for extra comfort. 5 - Waterproofness: Welllll I am glad Mustang is actually using AquaSeal for the main zipper. Rather than cutting corners and putting a cheaper AquaGuard which is what 99% of the industry is going for and still calling their jackets "waterproof". Having said that, if you happen to dip your hands in the water and reach something (submerging half of your forearms in the water). You will find that the membrane of the cuff is going to let some water through. The cuff seal is good and keeps the water away even when your hands are up and the water is running towards your sleeves. These neoprene cuffs are actually working better than the EP6.5. In my opinion these neopren cuffs are basically the only cuffs "seal" I've tested that did not leak water into the sleeve and were very comfortable without a need to over-tighten them to prevent the water from dripping back into the sleeves. Even the EP6.5 failed me on that specific test and that was one of the main issues I found about the EP6.5. So the bottom line is I wish the jacket had a Gore-tex membrane or at least the membrane connecting the sleeves to the neoprene cuffs was waterproof. Additional items I wished for, a reinforced D-ring on the back even if there is an anchor point I think it might not last me for how much I'd be abusing it. Adding 2 D ring on each side of the front bottom jacket would be really nice and maybe reconsider the upper pocket arrangement and size as well as a game pocket on the back for people who want to go fishing."
"This has been great so far. Used them through 2 heavy rain days and remained perfectly dry. I have them paired with the meris bibs. Both are great."
